Drove down from Canberra using the alpaca burger as an excuse for a day out, and sadly a little disappointed. It used to be a show case of what alpaca meat tastes like on a good pub burger.Now it's overwhelmed by the 'Moroccan' spice mix in the patty and the eggplant. Go back to basics guys. Alpaca patty on a 'classic' pub burger. Just my opinion...
If your not a local youll pay more.Say your a local and pay market price, or go up to the top pub where its cheaper. The prices have gone through the roof since the bipass No more pub food at pub prices. Just pub food garnished nicely and served in smaller portions to create an upmarket expectation at inflated prices. A sense of desperation.
Alpaca burger was tasty. Beer was good. I'd love to see more Aussie pubs serving cask ale. Like the ol Dart.
Descent pub food... awesome nachos... good selection of beers on tap.... first time Ive had an alpaca burger which wasnt a big deal..
The day we visited the Berry Hotel it was a very hot and busy weekend. I thought the restaurant was top notch and the four of us had a good lunch. Restaurant staff were engaging and pleasant. We ate in the little dining room at the front of the hotel. It was quite hot despite the air-con. I thought that the bar staff were business-like and somewhat rushed.We parked at the rear of the pub under a shady tree.
